A REALLY BEAUTIFUL QUILT

Not often do I see a quilt that  is so exciting to look at  for me! 
Congratulations  to Cynthia Milne Goodwin !!!
I love the traditional patterns  cut out of all kinds of crazy fabrics-the interest in the quilt for me is the way these fabrics have been so creatively put together-it is  a modern yet old fashioned beauty!!!

I can't believe my last post was  6 MAY !! Its been a busy spring  around here .  . .and I guess after  3 years of blogging I am slowing down in the ideas  area  . . .been into gardening  more this spring . . . .and into the dye pots. . . .and  spending time hooking!!

With all the warmer weather  I have been gardening of course . . .mot much time for blogging around these days . . . .sometimes I think we need a little break . . .the clours here just stopped me in my tracks!Bravo Monique!!!

THOUGHTS for a MONDAY!

No matter how much or how often we go on about all this copy stuff  . . .. . . this  shows  you that other people have other thoughts  about it all!!!
I do think it is true that one must  observe all things and  devour everything around us passionately !!!It is not possible not to be influenced by each other!

SUGARING OFF SEASON

We were lucky this week to be able to go to our neighbours  sugar shack and although there was a tractor instead of the horses the scene was very much like this one!

The collection barrel  was of stainless steal and  much bigger  . . .but the woods were the same and the buckets hanging had covers on them .

I once made  the syrup with a couple of friends . . .None of us had a clue  what we were doing !We almost burnt the final syrup . . .thats when I discovered  I love the dark dark  B- grade of syrup when it has  caramelized !
The water coloured A grade stuff is not for me!

STAIR RISERS

BEAUTIFUL STAIR RISERS 

For a SNOW DAY in APRIL . . .nothing like shocking me back into blogging . . .sometimes life is just far toooo busy . . .but here I am  stuck in the house today with a blizzard  falling and  my DH trying to get a flight out to Paris . . . .grand children for dinner and an overnight . . . .and I am thinking of  friends driving down from Québec city for a hook in tomorrow  . . . .who would have thought?!!!

I am showing you today these wonderful stair risers  made for a house in Nova Scotia (every house in NS has them!!) . .. 

Half are hooked and Ann couldn't resist getting the first 6 hung up . . . . Keep at it encouragement !!!

Can't wait to see the next designs!!!Love them! BRAVO!!!

SAMPLER STORY RUGS

Saw this  wonderful little SAMPLER RUG online somewhere lately . . .I think it is being hooked as a fund raiser in the UK but I am not sure . . .maybe several hookers . . .?
It certainly has a Diane Cox  feeling!No matter what!I love her fun carefree style!It certainly  feels like  SPRING   . . .not like here in Montreal today . . .as I sit snowed in with 2 feet of snow in the driveway . . . . . .
Hoping students will find their way to me . . .several are working on their own sampler designs today . . .this is a fun way to make a  STORY RUG. . . .try it while waiting for the snow to melt!
Got to go shovel. . . .
